The Northman - Movie

These were meant to show the move of the Viking clan to Iceland. The feeling was more rural and the concepts became an exercise of abstraction and blurring.

Illustration and concept developed for The Northman movie. As the only concept illustrator on the project I had to explore the visual style of the film, portraying key locations and frames from a construction and vfx point of view. Production designer Craig Lathrop insisted on historic accuracy which became a great opportunity to dive deep into the Viking culture.
