House of Guinness - Netflix TV Series

Loved working on this project!
Developing the world of a period show for me is no different from science fiction or fantasy, it may be a big reason why I enjoy them equally as much!
Unearthing the past and placing it through the vision of the present made story does tend to alter the original; the research, the reading, understanding the context and then making assumtions, elevating designs has an immense freedom for me but keeping an authentic feeling is always an aim for me.

The ballroom set is a central piece where most of the scenes in the Guinness house take place. quite a bit of development went into it, the windows proportions, pelmets, marble style walls, ceiling, pillars and floor..it all had to sustain the image of the family and also the times it was built in.
The funerary cortage was fun to do as I tried giving it a subtle feeling of trouble underway..

Glad to see the story and the world brought to screen so well by production designer Richard Bullock and his team. was a pleasure working under his direction again..
